Singh is king…again

MONTECASINO - MONTECASINO - Tsogo Sun's Roulette Masters tournament proved that anyone can win twice.

The second nationwide Roulette Masters culminated in a finale hosted by Montecasino where last year’s champion, Neil Singh walked away with the first prize again.

The thrilling finale followed eight weeks of qualifying and semifinal rounds at all of Tsogo Sun’s 14 casinos, and saw 40 finalists from across the country travel to Johannesburg to place their bets for the Roulette Masters title.

“The response to the tournament countrywide was phenomenal,” said Steve Hight, director of gaming for Tsogo Sun. “Thousands of roulette enthusiasts arrived at our casinos to buy-in for the chance to turn R100 into over R1 million, and as a direct result of the remarkable buy-ins by Tsogo Sun patrons, the total prize pool increased from an initial amount of R1.7 million to R2.82 million within eight weeks, taking the already high stakes of the second annual tournament to a record level.”

Montecasino was a hub of excitement as the finalists fought for the top spot over 10 heats. The 40 finalists were quickly whittled down to the top few scorers, and after a few more nail-biting rounds Singh came out tops once again, winning the grand prize of R2.1 million. All the top 10 finalists also received prize money from the total prize pool.

Singh qualified for the tournament by playing roulette at Montecasino and qualified for a total of five seats in the final.
