The over-the-top romantic pre-birthday surprise that American rapper Travis Scott planned for his billionaire girlfriend Kylie Jenner seems to have sparked a battle of the sexes on South African twitter this week.

On Monday, Jenner, who will be turning 22 this weekend, woke up to a part of her mansion completely covered in red roses and rose petals.

Jenner took to Instagram to share the surprise with the world.

“My house is covered in ROSES! @TravisScott and it’s not even my birthday yet!!!!! Omg ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️????????????????,” posted Jenner in her video caption.

The couple’s daughter, Stormi, can also be seen briefly seen in the video, excitedly throwing petals in the air.

Shortly after fawning over the sheer romantic nature of the gesture, South African Twitter users began to wonder whether such a thing would ever happen here.

While many were having their fun contributing to the topic, others expressed their displeasure at the shape that the conversation took.
