No monkey business
Shaping up after Christmas with Crazy Monkey Defense.

Crazy Monkey Defense (CMD) is a martial art that is certainly no monkey business. Situated at Worldwear Shopping Centre on Beyers Naudé, CMD has been open for three months and already has a troop of crazy monkey enthusiasts.
Coaches are trained to teach self-defense techniques and are available to assist in muscle building and toning, burning fat and general fitness. It is regarded as an interactive social approach to staying in shape and allows for meeting fellow crazy monkeys that are equally as obsessed with the art. CMD founder Rodney King has more than sixty CMD centres across the globe in fifteen different countries.
“Crazy Monkey martial arts is an interactive way of getting yourself in shape, it increases and tests your mental strength and challenges you to live a life that keeps you healthy and fit,” said CMD instructor Dwain Kotze.
“You need to keep in shape over the festive season, especially after those Christmas lunches,” added instructor Mark Daly. CMD recommends the following post-Christmas exercises to get you back in shape.
• Jumping Burpee
• Leg throws
• Straight knees
• Knee lunges
• High knee jumps
• Jack knives
• Punching bags (cardio)
• Pad work (cardio)
• Kicking (cardio)
