Herman Douwes’ last works of art for sale

Herman Douwes’ last artworks are being sold to the public by his son, Luke at his home in Ruimsig.

Randburg Art Society founding member, Douwes used to be an art teacher at Linden High School for many years and was also a respected member of Randburg’s creative community, until he passed away in 1980.

Likened to Pierneef and Preller, the greats of his day, Douwes paintings are, surprisingly, going for a song – surprising as many of these pieces could be worth a lot more in years to come.
