Stroke patient involved in accident
HONEYDEW – In a rush to get her father to hospital a woman makes a U-turn and causes an accident.

On 10 December at around 11am at the intersection of Dolfyn Street and Christiaan de Wet Road, two vehicles were involved in a serious collision.
According to Metro Police officers who were on scene, the one vehicle, a BMW 1-Series tried to make a U-turn in Christiaan de Wet when it collided with another BMW.
The woman who drove the 1-Series explained to police that her father was having a stroke and she was trying to get him to Wilgeheuwel Hospital. “I missed the turn to the hospital so I had to make a U-turn to try and get my father to the hospital as fast as possible.”
Vital Med operation manager Eric Nicholas confirmed that two patients were transported to a hospital, but he is still unsure to which hospital and what state the father is currently in.
“We have had numerous accidents at this intersection during the last year because of the robots that never work and the streetlights that are never on, and it turns Christiaan de Wet into a dangerous road at night or even during the day,” concluded Nicholas.
