Eighth body discovered at Roodekrans waterfall

Yet another body, reportedly the eighth in the past three years, was retrieved from the waterfall pool at the Manie Mulder Adventure Centre.

This is the third body discovered in the pool this year alone. Members of Krugersdorp’s Sector 8 CPF were called to the waterfall where residents had discovered another naked body.

It is suspected that the man, believed to be in his thirties, drowned at around 3.30 pm that afternoon but this has not been confirmed. CPF members reportedly responded 20 minutes later.

One eyewitness account stated that the man took to the spring to collect holy water when he drowned. His clothes and shoes were apparently placed neatly on the rocks and a plastic bag with other belongings was found nearby. A 5l bottle was floating along the spring, which he reportedly lost grip of before disappearing in the water.

The waterfall is apparently popular among Zion Christian Church goers who reportedly use the facilities for various rituals.
Members of the K9 Police Unit, Roodepoort police, CPF and Gauteng EMS as well as Sihlangene Security responded to the scene.
