Frikkie Page is the strongest in his category

Frikkie Page has once again become the strongest man in his weight division.

Frikkie Page has become the strongest man in the Southern Hemisphere under 105 kilograms.

This comes after he took part in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Australia Strongman competition earlier this month.

Frikkie was just one of 10 athletes in the world invited to participate in the competition.

He went down under with fellow South Africa Gerhard Taljaard.

Frikkie won the deadlift maximum weight of 350 kilograms.

He then went onto the Suitcases where he struggled with the 150 kilogram per hand for 30 metres.

Frikkie, however, however stormed back with his favourite Log Press 120 kilograms where he won by lifting it six times.

The Yolk Walk was next and he won by carrying 375 kilograms for 30 metres in just 16,6 seconds.

The Atlas Stones were last on the agenda. He put a 130, 140 and two 150 kilogram atlas stones on a 1,3 metres pedestal in just 28 seconds.

His win tally gave him the gold medal and the strongest man under 105 kilograms in the Southern Hemisphere title.

Frikkie has been training for the competition in the last three months and is happy with his achievements.

“It was an experience to be a part of the event with big names. Only a few competitors from around the world were invited so it’s an honour,” said Frikkie.

Frikkie, who is looking for sponsorship to take his career further will next compete in the Strongman competition at the Rand Easter Show this weekend then the World’s Strongest Man later this year.
