Traffic came to a standstill when a large truck overturned, causing an accident along Beyers Naudé Drive, Fairland, near the N1 Highway on the afternoon of 23 July.
A City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) fire engine was on scene, as well as ambulances from private emergency service companies.
Fortunately, no one sustained any injuries during the accident.
The driver of the truck, who wishes to remain anonymous, explained, “I was on my way to deliver manure at Muldersdrift when suddenly, I lost control while turning into Beyers Naudé Drive.”
“It is an unfortunate situation but I am very pleased that I was not hurt,” he said.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department spent the afternoon clearing the scene.
