Pupils of King’s School West Rand celebrated the last term with colour and culture.
Pupils of the senior and junior phases were involved in a cultural assembly where they dressed in traditional outfits and a marimba band entertained them.
The rest of the day was filled with traditional sports activities such as apple bobbing, sack races and potato-and-spoon races.
Before the activities, which saw grades competing for the title of traditional sports champion, pupils participated in a ‘colour explosion’ where they got to shower their peers and teachers with coloured powder. All their competitive work stirred up quite an appetite, and, therefore, the school provided pap and boerewors rolls for lunch.
“Pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves with cultural heritage celebrations and the colour explosion as a celebration of God’s diversity in creation. Lasting memories were made as the school closed for the third term on a high note,” said admissions and marketing officer, Michelle Dos Ramos.
