SPCA Randburg gets R10 000
NORTH RIDING – In the spirit of giving, SPCA Randburg is given R10 000 after a kind soul chose them to be beneficiaries as part of his prize.

Doing good is simple and is in the hearts of every person in the community, and nowhere is this more evident than a good deed by Gregory Singleton from Weltevreden Park.
Singleton chose the Randburg SPCA as his charity of choice after he won the Brand Hubb Challenge. Rob Anderson, CEO and founder, of Brand Hubb explained that, to enter the competition, one had to shove as many marshmallows as they could into their mouth and say ‘Brand Hubb’ with every marshmallow inserted. Each participant recorded their marshy moment and shared the video on social media.
The winner won 10 000 Brand Hubb points to be spent on their website and R10 000 went to any charity of their choice.
Singleton’s name was picked out of the lucky draw after he managed to shovel in eight marshmallows. “I love animals and I drive past the Randburg SPCA on most days. My girlfriend and I heard about the robbery that occurred here and we believed that the money would be most needed at the SPCA,” said Singleton, who has three cats.
Randburg SPCA general manager Craig Rudman said, “We are so grateful for the donation. It’s like Christmas came early for the animals here. The money will be put towards the general running of the SPCA, which helps us help the animals that are in our care.”
