Update: Road opened, closed again
Protest spilled over onto South Road during the night.

The protest action on Albertina Sisulu Road opposite the Princess informal settlement has entered its third day.
At one stage yesterday the road, which was closed off between Corlett Avenue and Wilgespruit Street, was reopened but during the night the protest flared up again and spilled onto South Road. It was closed off again some time early this morning. This morning (16 February) traffic in the areas surrounding the informal settlement was severely congested. To make it worse a Metro bus broke down on South Road, which is one of the alternative routes.
Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area until further notice.
