Kalene Geduld is on an exciting journey towards being crowned Mrs South Africa. The 29-year-old semifinalist in the competition is using the platform to inspire and reach out to more women. The pageant offers married South African women who have real-life careers, families, and hobbies the chance to compete for the prestigious title of Mrs South Africa. Glamour and sophistication are part of the criteria, as are being smart and ambitious, and caring about both family and community.
“I love what the pageant stands for, namely beauty with a purpose. It empowers married women with or without children.”
This young wife and mother of two runs two companies, Fit Moms Club South Africa, which teaches mothers all they need to know about living a perfectly healthy and balanced life through physical fitness, and TG Gourmet Catering which creates one-of-a kind menus designed to reflect the customer’s individual style.
Kalene would love to win the crown so she can support and assist more women to lead a healthy lifestyle and help charities she was unaware of before she began her journey as a Mrs South Africa contestant. She wants to continue her assistance long after the pageant has concluded.
Although having a family and running businesses is challenging, Kalene said being part of the pageant has been just as challenging. “They test our business sense and we have to secure sponsors for ourselves. Having to approach different companies and have them believe in my vision and what I stand for is challenging, but I love it. Having to juggle a family, businesses and the pageant is all about timing. If you work well with time then you can get through everything. My family has been a great support structure during this time,” she said.
