Amy Ferreira recently won a gold medal for acting at the Talent Africa competition and will be heading to New York in July.
She also received a bronze medal for modelling, proving that she is a star in the making. The 11-year-old has had a love for performing from a young age, joining her first musical theatre production at the age of seven. That was when the theatre bug bit her and she started musical classes at Stageworx Performing Arts School. Her passion for the arts continued to grow and today she has performed in many theatre productions.

In October last year, Amy entered the Talent Africa Regionals where she was awarded provincial colours for Acting and Singing. This just made her work harder, and the results proved it, as she earned a spot at the Talent Africa Nationals earlier this year. She did not disappoint – she excelled and was selected to be part of the South African team going to New York.
Amy has been in many productions such as Easter Bunny Who at Gold Reef City theme park, Night of the Stars, Born to Perform and Big Bad Musical. She has achieved distinctions for all her Trinity Guildhall Examinations and is currently preparing for her Grade 4 Guildhall Exam, which takes place next month.
