Maziya gives back to Zandspruit community via clinic

ZANDSPRUIT – Zandspruit Clinic receives a much-needed donation of bins for their consultation rooms.

Maziya General Services recently donated much-needed bins to the Zandspruit Clinic.

According to Jan von der Heyde, community liaison officer for the F46 Rand Water Project, Maziya is the construction company for the F46 project and wanted to give back to the community of Zandspruit where part of their workforce comes from.

The Zandspruit Clinic was in desperate need of bins for their consultation rooms so Maziya donated six bins to the clinic. Operations manager at the clinic Hilleze Schreuder said, “Thank you Maziya General Services for your kind donation. Part of running a clinic is keeping it neat and clean so this donation will make a difference.”

Democratic Alliance public relations councillor Pogiso Kgobokoe lines the new bins with rubbish bags.

Schreuder explained that the core standard bins for clinics are stainless steel bins but the bins they receive are made of tin, are of a poor quality and break easily. Their current bins were small and some did not have an easily accessible swing lid, such as the large, donated bins. The clinic has separate bins for medical waste but needed general waste bins for their consultation rooms.

DA public relations councillor, Pogiso Kgobokoe; Zandspruit clinic operations manager Hilleze Schreuder; community liaison officer for the F46 Rand Water Project, Jan von der Heyde; and community leader, Mary Phiri shake hands outside the clinic.

Democratic Alliance public relations councillor for the Zandspruit area, Pogiso Kgobokoe, also gave his thanks.

“Thank you for looking after the community. We appreciate any donations, big or small, and are very happy with what we received as part of Maziya’s giving back to the community,” he added.
