A passion for environmental and social issues has led Zizipho Naki to becoming a Regional Semi-finalist in the Miss Earth South Africa competition.
The Florida youth is excited to be a semi-finalist in a programme that has her working with the youth for the community’s benefit. Zizipho entered Miss Earth South Africa because it is a leadership programme that aims to empower young South African women with knowledge and provides a platform to create a sustainable difference in combating the destruction of the natural heritage.
The programme is in line with her passion as it creates awareness about sustainable development, the environment, wildlife and the conservation of the country’s natural legacy.
“In my journey, I am required to raise a minimum sponsorship or donation of R5 700. The money will be used by the Miss Earth South Africa organisation to facilitate various upliftment and development campaigns of the programme,” she said.
In addition to the financial donation or sponsorship, Zizipho is also required to plant a minimum of 10 trees.
She requests sponsorship in both these areas so as to be able to fulfil this task. There are many other projects that she will be partaking, in such as spreading the word of the #WasteStopsWithMe campaign in local schools, community cleanups and tree-planting projects.
