Lifco and MyNeighbour kiss and make up

STRUBENS VALLEY – Lifco and MyNeighbour show residents that there is no bad blood between them.

Two community organisations, Little Falls and Strubens Valley Residential Community (Lifco) and MyNeighbour have put their apparent differences aside and worked together for the greater good.

Following speculations about the two groups creating a divide in the community, the organisations decided to rubbish the claims by joining hands and getting involved in a clean-up campaign over the weekend.

The campaign, aimed at beautifying the Strubens Valley and Little Falls areas, saw members of both organisations roll up their sleeves, working together and having a little fun.

The initiative started on Hendrik Potgieter and Fredenharry roads and went all the way to Retail Crossing Shopping Centre.

Director of MyNeighbour Ivan Gurovich said both organisations had discussed the perceived divide. “None of us believed there is a divide, it was just different people doing different things at different times and today [1 July] we thought we should do something together.”

Gurovich added that this was the start of many projects working together.

“We planning many things going forward. As Lifco does initiatives they will involve us and similarly. Because we are in one community it doesn’t mean that we can’t work together or there’s competition.”
