Ward 71 residents invited to make a difference

Residents afforded the opportunity to engage with ward councillor

“On 22 July, we will be in the parking lot of the Witpoortjie Pick ‘n Pay from 9am, with three petitions for residents to sign,” said René Benjamin, councillor for Ward 71.

The petitions residents are being asked to sign cover the following matters:

• A request for speed-calming measures on McGrath Avenue (General Pienaar Avenue) at Laerskool Dr Havinga

• A request for the installation of a four-way stop at Schlapo Street, Java Street and Corlett Avenue just before the Engen Garage

• A request for a raised pedestrian crossing in Nassau Street at Princess Primary

“Residents will also be able to come and log issues, including faulty street lights, tree- and grass-cutting, potholes and street names that are not visible, with me and the team on the day,” René said.

She concluded by saying, “We will also provide details of the Safe and Sound programme that resulted from the safety meeting, so that the community can get involved.”
