Update: Technicians assessing damage

Extent of repairs will only be known after assessment

Although the water has stopped gushing from the damaged pipe, Johannesburg Water (JW) is still not able to give residents an estimated time of restoration.

According to JW’s Twitter page, technicians have been able to start excavating at the site to assess the extent of the damage to the pipe. “Once the excavations are done, the team will be able to find out what is needed to effect the repairs, and how long it will take to do them,” the post read.
