Local golfers compete in the Sunshine Tour

Local golfers Coert Groenewald and Riekus Nortje have had a tough time on the greens this month. The golfers competed in various Sunshine Tour national tournaments, and although there were flashes of brilliance from Riekus in some of the games, Coert failed to crack the top 50.

In the Vodacom Origins, played at the Highland Gate Golf and Trout Estate, Coert tied for 61st place with a six-over-par 73 in the second round and missed the cut. In the same tournament, Riekus was in the top 10, carding a three-under-par 68 in three rounds to finish in ninth place.
