Kick-boxers’ success in Brakpan

Kick-boxers happy at recent success

Kick-boxers from Team Rage did not disappoint in their recent quest to become the best in the sport. They were competing at the Brakpan Indoor Centre and were among the 1 500 athletes from all over the Gauteng and North West provinces. Collectively, the kick-boxers won eight gold medals, eight silver medals and seven bronze medals. However, coaches Darrin Opperman and Steve van Eden believe that their team can still achieve more on the national stage.

“We are very proud of all the kick-boxers who participated in the tournament. We are now going to work even harder to ensure we do better at next month’s Grade North 3 competition,” said the duo.

Karen van Jaarsveld and Mina Lombaard each won a silver medal in their categories while Antoinette Visser was also awarded a silver medal although she injured herself in the process. Clarise Luyk won a silver and a bronze medal. Mark Moolman achieved two silver medals while Britney Swarts and Jerome Oberholzer each received a bronze medal.
