A four-year-old boy drowned on Sunday evening (24 September) in a swimming pool at a residence on Camfuti Street in Helderkruin.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene by Apcan Security and arrived at 7.35pm. On arrival, they found an Apcan security officer performing CPR on the child near the pool.

Paramedics immediately took over the CPR effort and initiated advanced life support interventions in an effort to revive the boy. Unfortunately, despite 45 minutes of emergency treatment, there were no vital signs and the boy was declared dead.
It is understood that a family member had found the child floating in the pool and immediately pulled him out. A security member arrived on the scene and immediately began CPR.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
