26 January — Lube and Tube. For all of those Lube and Tube virgins still among us, here’s what you can expect: Pull off the road into an untouched paradise, set up your camp among a few hundred other like-minded enthusiasts, tube along a mountain river through rugged bush and local farmland, party like you’ve never partied before, with live music beneath the African stars.

9 to 11 February — Sabie Tube Race 2018 hosted by Round Table White River at the Castle Rock Caravan Park, Sabie.

3 to 4 March — Rumours Rock City will be hosting Metalfeast 2018 at the corner of Weltevreden Road and Valley Avenue, Randburg. An entire day and night with over 14 bands that are ready to bring you nothing but the heat and the METAL. Two stages of insanity and of course BEER, spit braai madness and an entire venue filled with good friends. 1 to 4 March — Randfontein Show/ Skou 2018, the West Rand’s biggest business and best social extravaganza! It’s for the whole family and value for money. It’s the “Lekkerste Kuierskou!” Hundreds of stalls, mouth-watering food, live entertainment and lots of fun rides and activities.

11 March — The Cape Town Cycle Tour, formerly known as the Cape Argus Cycle Tour is an internationally-renowned bike race in its 41st year. Not only a popular sporting event for cyclists, it is a tourist attraction that sees an annual boom in the industry around the Western Cape. The next race will be taking place on 11 March 2018 after the race was postponed last year due to strong winds. The event brings in over 35 000 cyclists worldwide, who take on the gruelling 109km route through Cape Town. Not merely about the race, The Cape Town Cycling Tour donates much of its proceeds to charity, to the Pedal Power Association and the Rotary Club of Claremont – the race’s two official charities. 17 March — The “Om Die Dam” Ultra Marathon has shown tremendous growth from 1 950 athletes in the first race during 1991.

Reasons given for the popularity of the race are the fantastic atmosphere during the race, the beautiful surroundings and scenic route, and the quality and presentation of the race which is regarded as one of the best organised races in the country. You run the 21,1km route around the suburbs of Hartbeespoort. You will find it flat, easy and fast. Race starts at Schoemansville Oewer Club, Waterfront Street, Hartbeespoort. 27- 28 October — Oakfield Farm is hosting its Bridal Expo in Honeydew.
