28 January is the perfect opportunity for you to have some fun at work, as it is National Fun At Work Day!
The majority of people spend a large part of their lives at work, so why should they not try and enjoy it? Dave Hemseth and Leslie Yerkes, co-authors of 301 Ways To Have Fun at Work say, “Organisations that integrate fun into work, have lower levels of absenteeism, greater job satisfaction, increased productivity and less down-time.”
Some ways to have fun at work, included the following:
• Distribute page-a-day calendars
• Institute pub Thursday
• Personalise your workspace with family and pet photos, fresh flowers and bright colours that you enjoy
• Have sports tournaments
• Build a Wall of Fame
• Create a humour bulletin board
• Solve a riddle
• Have regular meetings that are not business-related
To celebrate today, let your imagination lead you to find fun and exciting things to do at work. Just be sure that the things you choose to do have your boss’ approval. Better yet, convince your boss to join in on the fun!
