Dribbles, tackles and goals at open day

The club offers training sessions every week, with games during the weekends, and players are assured of top level coaches and great training facilities.

Florida Albion Football Club (FAFC) recently hosted its opening night, where prospective players were given the opportunity to register for the upcoming season.

According to Jeremy Govender, the club’s media and marketing spokesperson, they had more than 100 registrations on the night. He said, “We had players from around the Florida and Roodepoort area who attended the night’s proceedings with their parents, eager to register and start training. I am sure we will receive many more registrations.”

The training field was filled with a large number of eager players listening intently to the coaches explaining the different techniques. “The coaches all had a different age group of players and, in a team set-up, helped them with dribbling, passing, man marking, defending, attacking and general team work. The objective of the opening night was mainly to have fun while brushing up on skills and recruiting new club members,” said Jeremy.

He added that the turn-out at the opening night exceeded expectations and said, “With players in age groups ranging from six years old all the way to an U/17-team, an open senior team that participates in the Promotion league as well as a ladies and over 35 Veteran’s league, this looks to be the start of a great year for FAFC!”

“We also have secure parking for parents and the community who want to come and support our teams,” he concluded.
