The victim, who is exhausting every resource to make sure he gets his car back, said he didn’t even have a chance to see the suspects’ faces as they intimidated him at gunpoint.
“Those guys don’t want to be looked at, so it was hard to see the faces. I can only recognise one of the guy’s voices,” he said.
Sergeant Mpho More, the spokesperson for Florida Police Station, said the complainant arrived at the station to report the matter after he was dropped off somewhere in Lanseria. “The complainant alleged that he was hijacked by three males driving a black Golf 5.
“He said they dropped him somewhere in Lanseria and he called somebody to come and pick him up. They then came to Florida Police Station to open the case,” she explained.
The victim said his car was stripped of its tracking device and could not be traced. He added that he hopes for an arrest after being told by the police that the footage of the incident was taken to the Forensics Department in Pretoria for enhancement.
The matter is still under investigation.
