Judoka had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills before they were placed in different teams that took part in a round robin competition the following day.

The team captains had to pick creative names for their teams, and the higher grade judoka of the club acted as officials, in order for them to qualify for their next grade. “For the first time in history, the first place was shared between two teams – The Judo Legends and The Judo Gladiators. The Judo Pythons placed second and The Judo Tigers third,” said Danie Bruwer, the owner and head coach of the club.

“I just want to thank everyone who made this weekend a great success,” Danie said.

Danie and his coaches not only teach judo at schools on the West Rand, there is also a dojo in Roodekrans, where judoka of all ages train after hours.
