Learners use talent show to tell real-life stories
The evening, which showcased talents in music, acting and dancing, was produced under the theme 'In a world where you can be anything, be yourself.'

It became a night to remember when Trinityhouse High School Little Falls put on a masterpiece production during their recent annual talent show.
The show, which showcased talents in music, acting and dancing, was produced under the theme ‘In a world where you can be anything, be yourself.’

“What a night to remember! From the well-known performing talents of years past, to new learners that came out of the woodwork to show us their talents, the audience sat captivated by the performances of the evening,” said Adrienne Hadebe, the marketing coordinator, as she described the event.
She added, “One of the most notable observations was the fact that some learners used their performances to address social issues, from bullying to escaping abuse and standing up for those without hope.”

In the end, all the talent culminated in the top three awards. In third place, there was a tie between Dylan van der Merwe and Robyn de Villiers who performed a piano and vocal piece called Love in the Dark and Kabelo Moalusi who did hip-hop and break-dancing. Second place was awarded to Sean Steyn who did a karate routine with ballerina Lisa Smith. The first place award went to Avela Fongoqa who vocally smashed Whitney Houston’s hit, I have nothing. Avela was pitch perfect, hitting every note and producing a flawless rendition of a vocally challenging song.
