Today in History: Daisy Ridley was born. Here are five things you might not have known about this Star Wars star

Daisy Ridley, who turns 26 today, has become the heartthrob of the new Star Wars franchise.

Daisy Ridley was born in Westminster, London, in 1992 and attended the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts in Hertfordshire, between the ages of 9 and 18.

Prior to being cast in Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2014, Ridley worked as a bartender in two different pubs in London for nearly two years.

In 2016, Ridley began studying for a Bachelor of Arts in social science through online courses with the Open University.

She is most loved by Star Wars fans for her charisma and dazzling smile, and the fact that she is a fairly laid-back person.

Ridley even needed to attend therapy to handle her new-found fame at first.

For those Star Wars fans out there who haven’t read about all the things Ridley has done since her breakout role in The Force Awakens, here are five things you might not have known about her:

2. She can lift 80kg

In an interview with Vogue magazine, Ridley stated that the most she’s lifted is 80kg.

3. She knows all the lyrics to Lose Yourself

In the same Vogue interview, when asked what song she knows all the words to, she started rapping the first verse to Eminem’s 2002 smash hit Lose Yourself.

4. She speaks three languages

In addition to her mother tongue (English), Ridley can speak Japanese and French.

5. The dolphin is her spirit animal

When asked what she would consider her spirit animal, she immediately said it would be a dolphin.
