This morning, at about 6am, a man driving a VW Jetta was seriously injured when he veered into oncoming traffic.
He was travelling along Robert Broom Drive in the direction of Roodekrans when the incident happened. About 300m from the intersection with Amaryllis Drive, where Robert Broom Drive becomes Wilgerood Road, he crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with an Audi. This caused the VW Jetta to flip onto its side. He was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital shortly afterwards. The driver of the Audi was lucky enough to escape injury.

The cause of the accident will be the subject of an investigation by the relevant authorities.
