Malan Scholes Consulting (MSC) has released the Basic Assessment Report (Bar) on behalf of West Wits Mining.

MSC appointed Elemental Sustainability (Elemental-S) to undertake the Environmental Authorisation Application process that forms part of the proposed opencast mining permit for areas that are less than five hectares in extent, namely the Kimberley West and the Cresswell Park opencast pits.

The Bar is available to view at the Roodepoort Civic Centre, 100 Christiaan de Wet Road, Florida Park; the Witpoortjie Library, 22 Payne Street, Witpoortjie and the Sol Plaatjes Hall, 1960 Motlaka Street, Sol Plaatjes, from 21 June to 23 July.

All comments on the Bar should be submitted to MSC at projects@malanscholesconsulting.co.za or to SLR Consulting at 720.13087.0001@slrconsulting.com.

Comments received will be used to update the Bar and copies of all the comments will be included with the final Bar when it is submitted to the Department of Mineral Resources. Comments should reach MSC or SLR on or before 23 July.
