Wrestling fans visiting the Biltong, Boerewors and Beer Festival were thoroughly entertained by the HWA wrestlers who were in action in the square circle.
Excited fans came from far and wide to support, cheer and jeer for their favourite – and not so favourite – wrestlers, and they were not disappointed.

The action started when Gene the Rejected Clown made his entrance to the beat of the Clap Clap Song, only to be attacked from behind by his opponent, Clive Rude, who dumped him, head first, into a nearby dustbin.
While being yelled at for being rude, Clive dragged Gene out by his hair, and threw him back into the ring, making everyone wonder if Gene was going to be destroyed by his opponent. It was a thrilling match, with Gene using all the famous wrestlers’ moves, and to the children’s delight, he ended the match with a victory, after putting Clive Rude out of commission with a Stone Cold Stunner, and being awarded the pin-fall.The next match saw the much loved Bandit face off against Hector Payne, a man known for not following the rules. It was clear from the first bell that Hector Payne had Eric the referee in his pocket, as he was blind to all of the illegal moves and tricks. But, not even all of the Bandit’s speed and agility could help him win the match, as Hector Payne saw his chance, when Eric the referee was arguing with some fans outside the ring. He threw his chain at the Bandit, then fell onto his back, screaming in ‘pain’. The Banditwas caught red-handed, and immediately disqualified for the use of illegal weapons. Hector Payne was awarded the victory, amidst a choir of booing from the crowd.

Harlequinn and Azazel, two of the best high-flying and most skilled wrestlers took each other on in the ring, leaving the crowd awestruck with their display of technical power and high-flying moves. Azazel, with his ripped abs and muscles, was clearly the ladies’ favourite, but it seemed to be his downfall, as the Harlequinn used this distraction to his advantage. He slammed his opponent to the floor with a running DDT, grabbing the victory with a pin-fall.
The main event was the match-up between the masked demon The Ripper and the World Champion Steve Eden. The Ripper, who felt intimidated by his opponent’s impressive resumé, did not even allow him to enter the ring properly, before attacking him with a baseball bat.Because the match was stipulated as a no disqualification match, the referee had to allow this, to the delight and satisfaction of The Ripper. But Steve managed to compose himself by drawing on his years of experience, and quickly brought his opponent down to size with his single leg attacks, gut wrenches and suplexes. With his signature Eden Slam, he managed to defeat his opponent, and retain his World Title.

After the match, Steve Eden said, “The Ripper has become one of the most feared wrestlers in the world and is a formidable opponent. He is an extremely tough wrestler, who loves hurting his opponents as he beats them down for the victory. I am glad that my training camp went well, and that I could, with the backing of my team and my sponsors, Apcan Security, claim the victory today.”
