During the weekend of 19 to 21 October, the Roodepoort Police performed stop-and-search duties which resulted in 47 arrests.
The suspects, aged between 24 and 62, were arrested on various charges, including assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, theft, contempt of court, escaping lawful custody, housebreaking and theft, shoplifting, malicious injury to property, possession of drugs, murder, dealing in liquor, drunk driving, robbery and assault.
All suspects were charged and detained at the Roodepoort Police Station. They will be appearing in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
