Operation Buya Mthetho has once again yielded positive results – two more suspects have been arrested, one in the Roodepoort CBD and the other in Florida.
The first suspect was arrested by Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) K9 officers on the corner of Hendrik Potgieter Road and Albert Street for the possession of drugs (Kat). He was detained at the Florida Police Station.
The second suspect was arrested in a joint operation between the JMPD K9 unit and the Johannesburg West Cluster in the Roodepoort CBD. He was in possession of a quantity of explosive materials.
The officers confiscated 99 power gel blasting cartridges, 15 electric detonators and 63m of detonating fuse from this person. He was detained at the Roodepoort Police Station.
