According to the Central Energy Fund’s (CEF) preliminary data, motorists can expect another drop in fuel prices this February.
The CEF has ascribed the potential drop in prices to the rand’s good performance against the dollar as well as the drop in international crude oil prices. The decrease will not be as much as the decrease in prices for December and January, which amounted to more than R3 in total, but it will still bring more relief for motorists.
The expected prices for February are as follows:
• The petrol price will decrease by 12c per litre, bringing it to R13,98
• The price of diesel will decrease by 36c per litre, bringing the price to R13,67
• The price of illuminating paraffin will decrease by 33c per litre, resulting in a price of R12,78
These changes in price will take effect on the first Wednesday of February (6 February).
