Five people injured in Discovery accident
One patient airlifted for urgent medical care

Five people were left injured on Saturday, 26 January, following a three-vehicle collision at the Christiaan de Wet Road and Clarendon Drive intersection in Discovery.
According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, they received the call at about 3.45pm. “ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene where they found three wrecked vehicles in the middle of the road,” Meiring said.

The patients were assessed by paramedics, “Two people, a man and a woman, had sustained numerous injuries and were in a critical condition. Three other patients sustained minor to moderate injuries. The patients were treated for their injuries and the critically injured patients were provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the critically woman was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter to Lenmed Randfontein for urgent treatment,” he said.

The remaining patients were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
The details surrounding the incident are unknown, but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
