The Horison Methodist Church is happy that Piet Koopman has returned safely.
Piet, who is mentally challenged, went missing on Monday, 11 February after saying that he was going to wait for President Cyril Ramaphosa and the army to bring his ID book and Sassa card. He did not return that day.
On Friday, 22 February, Piet arrived at the church safely, stating that he had been in Nigel. How he got there, where he slept and what he ate remain a mystery.

“We are truly happy to see him back and unharmed,” said Horison Methodist Church’s Reverend Kim Alexander.
Piet is a homeless man, but was taken in by the church and has been living there for more than two years. They are trying to help him to get his ID so that he could go back home. However, Home Affairs has failed to help him.
