Helderkruin dancers off to World Championships
The championships will be taking place in the United Kingdom

Three dancers from the Dancecorp dance studio have qualified to represent South Africa at the World Freestyle Dance Championships later on this year.
The dancers, Logan de Villiers, Cayce Steenkamp and Anchin Fairlie participated in various freestyle championship rounds that were held in South Africa throughout the year in order to qualify. These included the following competitions:
• Sadta Easter Freestyle Championships
• Sadta Classique Freestyle Championships
• Sadta Bloemfontein Cheetah Challenge
• Sadta KZN Freetstyle Championships
• Sadta Gauteng Freestyle Championships
• Sadta South African Freestyle Championships
They have met the criteria, as outlined by the South African Dance Teachers’ Association (Sadta) and will be jetting off to the Winter Gardens in Blackpool to show off their dance moves.
However, the costs involved for the dancers as well as their trainers, Kyle Behrens and Shannon Dunbar, are astronomical.
“We would like to request sponsorships from any capable business or private individual that will help the team to fulfill their dream and compete at this prestigious event. All money raised will go towards extra training (in preparation for the competition), team apparel, flights, train tickets, hotel accommodation and any other extra costs that may arise,” Kyle said.
He concluded by saying, “We would like to wish the team all the best with the preparation for The World Freestyle Dance Championships.”
