They even allegedly know the names of the parents of the children and had the parents’ full details in the one incident that was reported.

Fortunately, the school contacted the parents to check whether the ‘Uber driver’ could pick up the child. The parents confirmed that they had not sent an ‘Uber driver’ to the school,” said Xaba.

Xaba urged parents and teachers to be careful and vigilant in following up on who picks up children from schools.

Xaba said, “Please make sure you inform the principal or the teacher of the person who will be collecting your child. Give the name of the person, their contact details and make sure that the time is stipulated and from which entrance. Put it in writing to the principal. They can even include the make, model and registration of the vehicle if need be.”
