A man was travelling along the N14 north towards Pretoria when he became the unfortunate victim of a hijacking at about 12pm.
The victim had recently left Cradlestone Mall in his Toyota Hilux, when he noticed a blue Ford Ranger with four occupants approaching him, according to Muldersdrift Police spokesperson, Constable Slindile Ntuli. “One of them [the hijackers] pointed at something on the victim’s vehicle while still in motion,” Ntuli said.

It was then that the victim stopped, along with the hijackers. “Two suspects from the Ford Ranger approached the victim and took his keys from the ignition and instructed him to hand his cellphone and wallet over to them,” Ntuli explained. “After taking the victim’s belongings, the suspects blindfolded the victim and forced him into the Ford Ranger.”
According to Ntuli, the suspects drove the victim around for a while before dropping him off in the open veld on the N12, heading towards Bekkersdal.
