Community invited to Hopelands Golf Day
Help create awareness of South Africa’s orphan crisis

All avid golfers with a heart for charity are invited to participate in the upcoming Golf Day, hosted by Hopelands.
Ian van Kraayenburg from the organisation explained, “Our mission is to raise public and community awareness of the orphan crisis in South Africa. We have made it our mission to build a self-sustaining village in Magaliesburg where orphaned and vulnerable children can be placed into a family environment, providing a holistic lifestyle for the children. For this project to be successful, we have started a campaign to raise funds and attract business partners who would like to donate, sponsor and provide support to this project.”
To support this strategy, a golf day will be held on 30 May at The Club, Steyn City. “We extend an invitation to all individuals and businesses to join us on the day. You will be able to meet the Hopelands team and enjoy a day of fun and hopefully become a partner in the Hopelands Vision,” Ian said.
Tee-off will be at 10am.
The cost of a four-ball is R12 000 which includes arrival drinks, use of a golf cart, halfway lunch, a formal dinner, a goodie bag and a Gary Player golf shirt.
Prizes for the day include:
• Longest drive
• Closest to the pin
• Hole-in-one prize worth R100 000,00 to be split 50/50 between the golfer and Hopelands
• An opportunity to out-drive the professional golfer on the day
• Team prize for the day on a four-ball alliance
During the dinner, various items will also be auctioned off as part of the fundraising event.
