This morning, 21 June, the police responded to a crime scene, where the truck was found abandoned on Boshoff Street near the railway bridge in Witpoortjie.
A passer-by who lives in Witpoortjie said it was an attempted hijacking.
When the Record got to the scene, officials had already left, leaving the CPF to monitor the truck.
The Roodepoort Police were contacted for comment but were unable to respond before the article was published.
