Pedestrian in a serious condition after motorcycle collision in Roodepoort
Vermaak said he was stabilised on the scene and was then rushed to hospital for further medical care.

A 59-year-old pedestrian was rushed to the Leratong Hospital after he was hit by a motorcycle yesterday, Wednesday, 10 July.
The incident, which happened shortly before 6pm near the intersection of Van Wyk Street and Nick Toomey Boulevard, left the man in a serious condition.

“Paramedics from ER24 responded to the accident and when they arrived on the scene, they found the pedestrian in the middle of the road. He had sustained serious head injuries,” said Werner Vermaak, ER24 Spokesperson.
Vermaak said he was stabilised on the scene and then rushed to hospital for further medical care.
“The motorcycle rider was assessed on scene but found to have sustained only minor injuries. He declined hospital transportation. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known, however, the Roodepoort Police were on scene for further investigations,” said Vermaak.
