Joburg City Parks will be in and around the West Rand today, Wednesday, 17 July, and they will be burning firebreaks.
Community members are urged not to panic.

• Moepel Avenue Ridge, Azalea Avenue, Roodekrans Ext 1
• Tobie (Kloof) Ridge, Elkie Drive, Roodekrans Ext 5
• Helderkruin Ridge, Watson Street, Helderkruin Ext 28
• Outeniqua Avenue Ridge, Outeniqua Avenue, Quellerina
Some safety tips for residents:
• Make sure your windows are closed
• Do not hang laundry outside
• Avoid driving near the burning site
• Keep your pets indoors
• Make sure you have buckets or a hosepipe in case the fire extends to your property
