Local school bags fourth position in gymnastics competition

The Top 3 schools will proceed to the district level.

The Durban Deep Primary School quadrangle was filled with excitement on Friday, 16 August, as some of the learners were getting ready to hit the road and fly the school’s flag high.They visited Arthur Matthews Primary School, to take part in a gymnastics competition.

Dressed in their pink and white attire, with white stockings, the learners posed for pictures together with their teachers, who were wearing matching outfits.

Speaking to Lorraine Nompumelelo Mohohlo, the deputy principal of the school, she said they were very happy and could not believe how talented the learners are.

Lorraine also added that they are very content that their learners went out and met with other learners from different schools.

“Our 10 learners, who were chosen to attend the competition, were given two minutes to showcase their talents. The competition was attended by 22 schools, and our learners placed fourth. We are very happy with the amount of talent that our learners have. We are really proud of them despite the conditions; our learners are taking our school’s name to higher levels,” she said.

It was said that the Top 3 schools will proceed to the district level.
