On Saturday, 24 August, members of the Princess Methodist Church gathered for their Annual Women’s Day celebration.
Joined by their counterparts, they celebrated the day, which was started off with a prayer and Scripture reading.

Penny Segone, who was the Master of Ceremonies for the day, said this year they decided to do things differently and allowed women to invite their partners.
“This is a unisex event and we thank everyone that is here with us for taking time out of their busy schedules. We will open this beautiful celebration with a prayer, to invite God to open our hearts, so that we are able to receive everything that will be delivered today,” said Penny.

Straight after the prayer, the women’s fellowship led the church into a wonderful chorus which set the mood for the event.
Purple Grace Foundation was also present and entertained the guests with a number of performances. A duo from the Foundation sang songs like Amazing Grace, with many attendees singing along.
“It is always our privilege to fellowship with other children of God. Thank you for inviting us so that we can praise and glorify God,” said Yolandi Jürgens, one of the members of the Foundation, who also said that they always worship because all the honour goes to God.

The day’s guest speaker was Elmien Botha, who focused her speech on hope and second chances. When she took to the podium, she shared a story, about a young pastor that had everyone chuckling.
“I bless with a difference. I will talk about hope and second chances because our God is a God of second chances. I just want to urge people to have hope in their lives,” said Elmien.
