These community members are dedicated to your safety

The first official sitting of the newly elected Roodepoort Community Policing Forum (CPF) was held on 17 September. The nine new executives have been elected by the members of the four sectors that make up the Roodepoort CPF.

Buzzing with energy and enthusiasm, the new chairperson, Petrus Lehaiwa, outlined his vision for an active and engaged CPF. He stressed the need for community members and the police to work side by side to tackle the crime that stains the streets of Roodepoort. Lehaiwa urged his executive to be committed to the positions that they have been elected to and to safeguard the responsibility they have inherited.

The patroller programmer position will be headed by Petrus Matsheng, who hails from Sector 2. Petrus will be in charge of coordinating patrols and organising his patrol teams. The embodiment of youthful exuberance is the youth desk coordinator, Nicholson Lekgau. Nicholson is eager get the youth motivated. He wishes to dedicate himself to providing an outlet for young people with few options. He understands the link between youth with no motivation and the scourge of drugs and crime. By providing opportunities to get involved in community activity, Nicholson hopes to inspire the youth.
