ProTouch Cycling rounded off a very successful Tour of China 1 on 14 September with 43 more (Union Cycliste Internationale) UCI points to add to their 2019 account as the top cycling team in Africa.
The South African outfit managed to get seven Top 10 finishes and two Top 20 finishes, with a very impressive one third place podium finish.
On General Classification (GC), the team got a Top 10 and a Top 15 place as well as a Top 5 in the Points Competition.
ProTouch’s stage results are summarised below:
• Stage 1 – 7th
• Stage 2 – 6th and 7th
• Stage 3 – 4th
• Stage 4 – 10th
• Stage 5 – 3rd (3 UCI Points) and 17th
• Stage 6 – 9th and 17th
On General Classification, ProTouch’s results are:
• 9th (25 UCI Points)
• 11th (15 UCI Points)
Points Competition – 5th place
The next mountain to climb for ProTouch is the second edition of the Tour of China, which started on Monday, 16 September 2019.
