The word of the day for 29 October is: Mistake.
A ‘mistake’ is defined as an act or judgement that is misguided or wrong.
We all make mistakes; they are a part of life and unfortunately cannot be avoided.
Elbert Hubbard said, “The greatest mistake a man can ever make is being afraid of making one.”
It is not the end of the world to make mistakes and it is not a bad thing; the bad part is if you repeat them. We need to identify our mistakes and find solutions to them; this will help us make sure we do not make them again.
Mary Pickford said, “If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.”
We cannot give our mistakes the power to break us, we are more than our mistakes. Steve Maraholi spoke wise words when he described how even though we make mistakes, we have the power to learn from them and change the way we approach things. We may not be able to change the past, but we can choose how we face the future.
“We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here now with the power to shape your day and your future.”
