A dozen injured in freak taxi accident
The accident, which resulted in the taxi overturning and almost levelling a traffic light with the ground, happened between JG Strydom and Theunis Roads in Weltevreden Park.

About a dozen people were rushed to hospital this morning, Monday, 18 November following an accident involving a taxi and a vehicle.

Eric Nicholls from VitalMed was unable to give information about the exact cause of the accident; however, he explained that the injuries of the multiple victims ranged from minor to severe, with one of them requiring Advanced Life Support intervention. That patient had to be airlifted to an awaiting medical facility, he said.
The City of Johannesburg EMS firefighters were on scene to clear the wreckage from the road, which had been closed for traffic temporarily.
