The annual national day that we all know as one of the busiest days of the year – Black Friday (BF) – once again had everyone doing an in-depth study of the leaflets promoting the various stores’ BF specials to prepare themselves for 29 November.
Every year social media are flooded with some of the most hilarious (and sometimes disturbing) sights and experiences on the day, for example a special refrigerator being transported on the back of a motorcycle, or people rushing to get their hands on the last roll of toilet paper on special. This year a Record journalist took to the malls of Roodepoort to find out what the residents had experienced on previous Black Fridays, and what safety tip they had to offer to survive the chaos of the crowded stores.
